Amazon to start Kindle store in UK on Aug 27

Amazon was suddenly and suspiciously in shortage of supplies of Kindles yesterday. But then there was also an announcement that the UK will be receiving its own Kindle Store on August 27.

According to the reports the new Kindle will have over 400,000 titles. Plus, the device is promised at lowest prices of any ebook shop in the UK. Out of a catalogue of over a million free books, the new Kindle will hold 3500 of them. The promise of 85 of the top 100 Nielsen UK Bestsellers also is there and it is quite a start for Amazon and the librarian. This may also increase the competition in the UK market for ebooks.

The US booksellers, however, have not explored the UK people as world’s best-read nations that have the richest history of library in the west. Now with the release of the Kindle the US ebook makers have started to make use of the UK market for business and the competition is only going to rise in the coming days.
