Motorola Milestone XT720 phone to be released soon in India

Motorola is likely to launch its Milestone XT720 smartphone in India. Some reports say that the phone may be launched formally in India in the first week of August. However, there are reports that the device is already available in Bangalore as of now. It is being sold at Rs. 30,000.

Motorola has not yet officially announced the launch of the phone. The company though has launched “Milestone” for sale in India which is known as the Motorola “Droid” elsewhere in the countries. But the Milestone XT720 is different than the one already released in India.

Milestone XT720 is similar in hardware to the existing Milestone. The new phone has a 3.7-inch screen, and it has a 8 megapixel camera, (up from 5 megapixel on the Milestone). The smartphone consists of feature of 720p HD video recording. The new Milestone comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The XT720 has Xenon flash – probably the first Android handset to sport one. The XT720 also has an HDMI port supports HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also has Android 2.1. So, those Indians who were looking for the Nexus One were disappointed that it never came to India, but they can now buy a stock Android phone.
